Our patients have experienced additional pain relief by mixing in various low-impact physical exercise into their daily lives. We encourage you to get active by walking, group aerobic exercise, swimming, or yoga. The ancient practice of yoga incorporates physical postures and breathing with stretching and relaxation of the body and mind. Yoga has been successful with many patients suffering various pain syndromes, mainly targeting back pain sufferers. With the modernization and popularization of yoga, it is easy accessible and suitable for all ages. There are four yoga studios conveniently located within the Denton area, and a never-ending list of places to practice within the DFW metroplex.
Many of the postures in yoga gently strengthen the muscles in the back, as well as the abdominal muscles. Back and abdominal muscles are essential components of the muscular network of the spine, helping the body maintain proper upright posture and movement.
